A message from our Treasurer, Robert:
Time to pay dues. $50 (for the whole year, or $30 per semester) for all members that are not freshman. Here are some ways you can pay:
1. Cash Money
4. Old fashion Check
5. Our website
Again I want to mention that you do not need to pay the full amount. I know we are all college students so you can make weekly or monthly payments. If you have the money now, you can come see me after the meeting tomorrow.
A message from our Community Outreach Coordinator, Jess:
As a club, we are partnering with the Houston Food Bank to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The Houston Food Bank guarantees every $1 raised will provide a full day of meals for someone in need in southeast Texas. Anything you can give will help! The Houston Food Bank is backed by Charity Navigator as one of the highest rated organizations in the areas most affected by Harvey. We are accepting donations for two weeks. That's Wednesday, September 13th through Wednesday September 27th!
A word from our Concrete Canoe PM, David:
Hello everybody! Thank you to those who were able to attend our first work day! We will be having our Concrete Canoe 2nd work day this Saturday 9/16 @ 10am. We will be working with concrete again so be sure to wear long pants, closed toe shoes and bring a positive attitude! We will be having an introductory meeting to row during this work day. So if you're interested in being part of row team or simply want to get out on the water with your classmates in a concrete canoe, then come out to our introductory row meeting! It's a lot of fun and a great break from the constant school work. See you all there!
A message from our Marketing Director, Amy:
The Civil Engineering Fall Career Night will be Thursday, October 12th from 5-8:30 PM! The event includes a reception in the CE Courtyard from 5-6 and a career fair in the SUMC South Ballroom from 6-8:30. The career night provides the perfect opportunity to network and get that dream job or internship, so make sure you attend!
We are looking for volunteers for the Career Night reception! If you would like to help plan the courtyard reception (food, decorations, etc), please email me at <email@example.com>. The reception sets the tone for the evening, and getting involved is not only a great way to give back to ASCE, but a great talking point and resume builder for the fair.
